Florence has the oldest functioning Arizona State Prison complex, with a total of nine prisons from the county, state, federal and two private prisons. In addition, the city holds the annual Country Thunder Music Festival, a popular destination of music enthusiast across the state. Florence is also home to the McFarland State Historic Park, a small historic park located in downtown.
